Hello and Welcome!
I'm glad you are here. My name is Paula Schnackenberg and I am a CTI and an ICF professionally trained life coach, an English teacher, writer, and life long expat.
I am here because I want to connect with other international women who are raising global families and at the same time looking to expand their spirituality by exploring the bigger and smaller questions of life.
I write about the aspects of daily living, expat family experience, coaching, and teaching. By digging just a bit deeper, I connect the dots to the bigger meaning in life. I’m curious and like writing stories to inspire and encourage.
Stories are what bind us together and leave footprints in our souls. I believe we are all here for a purpose. Our choices, good or bad, have influence on our families and the world.
As a life coach, I ask the question how can we make the world a better place by living our best values and virtues. Who are the people who inspire us? How do we keep sane and spiritually healthy in a world that seems to be going in the polar opposite direction? I don’t claim to have the answers, but I’ve long combed through my life for anything resembling insight.
The blogs are like letters to friends to whom I write to once or twice a month. It’d be great if you joined the conversation. Fill out the sign up form and hit send. Also, if you have a poignant story you want to share, please contact me. I take guest posts.
Mini Bio
I’m originally a California girl but have been living outside of the USA for a good part of my adult life. After graduating from university at San Francisco State University with a BA in Communications, I relocated to Paris, France to work as an au pair. I returned to California to procure my Master’s degree in English (TESOL). After graduation, I got a gig teaching English in Tokyo, Japan where I met my future German husband.
In the meanwhile, we married, moved 14 times, lived in five different countries, and had two children.
We currently live in Germany. I am a university lecture, conversation teacher and a professional life coach.
Other tidbits: I speak English and German, love the great outdoors, long walks, a good book, adventure and travel, epicurean delights, and great chats with my friends. Most importantly, I am grateful for my family and blessings in life.
How people describe me: bright, honest, adventurous, energetic, good listener.
Bonus info: I am a CTI certified life coach and have an ACC from the International Coaching Federation. I coach in both English and German. I’ve had varied interests and jobs: assistant TV producer and writer for a home and garden real estate show, college English writing instructor, a relocation specialist for international companies, and a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
Affiliations: Toastmaster’s International, International Coaching Federation, and International Women’s Association
